FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you setup before the booking time starts?
Yes! We arrive 20 minutes prior to each booking to setup so we can start performing on time. If you require us to arrive earlier to setup, please adjust your start booking time accordingly.
What are your requirements for a performance?
We require one armless chair per musician to be setup where you’d like us to perform. We also require adequate light to read our music. For outdoor performances, we require protection from the rain, wind and direct sunlight, as our instruments are extremely valuable.
How much performance space do you require?
A string quartet requires 2.5m x 2.5m, a string trio requires 2m x 2m, a string duo requires 1.5m x 1.5m and a solo violin, cello or viola requires 1.5m x 1m.
I'm not a musician. How do I know if I'm booking the best musicians?
Listen to our string quartet recordings and assess quality of sound, intonation, phrasing and togetherness. We are full-time members of Australia’s leading symphony orchestras and have won major national and international music competitions as soloists and chamber musicians. We only hire Australia’s top classical musicians.
Do you perform acoustically or amplified?
Acoustic works well for wedding ceremonies, since guests are usually quiet. For other functions with more than 80 guests, or if we’ll be outdoors, or in a large or crowded room, please consider amplifying us.
We may be able to supply a wireless amplification system, which will ensure your guests hear our music The volume and balance can be adjusted to suit the ambience, ensuring that we are heard but not overpowering.
If you’d like to amplify us, please let us know.
Do you perform special requests?
